I was honored to be interviewed by Galveston Island Guide, a magazine publication in Galveston, TX. Rob and I perform at least once a month in the Galveston area, so we feel like we’ve been adopted into the community family there. A couple of our ongoing performances include Mod Coffee and Galveston’s Own Farmers Market. We love going to Galveston Beach, too! It’s become our second home. Being featured in this magazine is a pleasure!

We talked about so many things in this article and the questions they asked brought up some nostalgia from growing up and my origins in New Orleans. We also talked about what makes my performances stand out and what people remember after listening to a show. One of the interesting questions was asking about my biggest challenges I’ve had to overcome being a musician. My answer? It’s not what you would normally think. I think I may have surprised myself with my answer. Ultimately, being an artist is about learning how to become your true self. I believe we’re all creators and artists at heart because we were made by a creator who made us in His own image. What we’re expected to do in order to be “productive” in society contradicts our natural needs of life and living.
