Some people call them House Concerts, we call them Listening Parties.  Either way it's too much fun not to do.  Here's why...

Want to host a show with Anitra Jay?

Imagine hosting the most unique and totally awesome party in your neighborhood that will be talked about for months to come.  Imagine having friends and family over to be entertained and serenaded by a touring artist.  You can do that and more by hosting a Listening Party with Anitra Jay!

Traditionally Listening Parties were held in peoples, homes across the globe.  Today, that trend is growing wildly and Listening Parties are popping up all over.  Don't you want to get in on it?

A Listening Party is an informal concert held in someone's living room, backyard, woodshed, or whatever your space is.  It is a great way to hang out with friends and family while listening to a quality live performance in your own home. A Listening Party is a very intimate and up-close event where listeners are often sitting at the feet of the performers as they play in front of a cozy fireplace or homely backdrop. The audience can enjoy getting to know the performer before and/or after the concert because the artists often stick around to mingle and eat. The hosts get kudos for providing the best party ever and the artists get to build their fan base in a grassroots sort of way while the listeners may not have ever experienced anything quite like it. It's beneficial for everyone involved!

Who puts on Listening Parties?

Anyone who has enough space to seat their friends and family can put on a Listening Party.  (If you think your spot is too small, consider a dinner and song show which usually accommodates about 6 to 8 guests.)  There are so many little-known talented artists and most would love to regularly perform at Listening Parties.  It's a great way to support the arts without having mainstream music execs involved.  Your support goes straight to the artist.

How much does it cost?

It costs nothing to schedule a Listening Party with Anitra Jay.  Listening Parties are powered by donations from guests.

How long does the concert last?

Normally, I play a 45 minute set. Then I take a 15-min break and then I play one more 45 min set of soul!

(Dinner & Song Shows typically run a shorter length about 30-45 mins total)

What do I need to do in preparation for the show?

As a host, your job is to invite your friends, family, neighbors and make sure your space is ready for guests.  Anitra has materials she can give you that can help with the invites.  You may want to borrow chairs, or arrange your chairs so that they are all facing the "stage area".  Be ready to party and have a good time.  Some hosts even make it a potluck where each guest brings a dish and everyone enjoys a meal together before the show.

What others are saying:

"Her music is fresh and inspiring, her voice amazing." Kurt J

"Not only does she have a beautiful voice, she was very personable with the audience and a lot of fun." -Elizabeth P.

"I didn't know what to expect as a new Listening Party host, but it was absolutely phenomenal.  Anitra was so professional, and all my friends enjoyed themselves to the fullest.  I would certainly recommend a Listening Party with Anitra to anyone."  - K. Cambriello, New York

Still not convinced?

  • Watch this Video about Listening Parties to see what it's all about.

  • Think your space is too small?  Consider having a Dinner & Song Show.  Invite at least 8 of your friends over for dinner and enjoy music from Anitra Jay.  (Note: Each attendee should expect to donate ~$15.)

  • Consider the huge cost savings!  According to Library Index, the average cost for a family night out is over $100.  If you have kids, the prices are staggering.  If you hosted a Listening Party instead, just imagine how much money you would be saving.  Plus, you would be supporting independent art and community.
