Tallahassee, Charlotte, Wake Forest, and Lexington Here We Come!

Traveling is one of our favorite things to do whether it’s for music or personal or a combination of both. This upcoming week we’re hitting the road again. This time we’ll be traveling through Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Kentucky. If you’re in any of the areas listed below, come by and see us! We’d love to hang out with you.

At the beginning of the week, we’ll be making our way through Louisiana into Florida. Although, with the hurricane looming, we don’t know how things are going to pan out. Growing up in New Orleans, the one thing I’ve learned is that you have to wait to see what the storm’s going to do before you make any decisions. But to have a plan in place regardless. These storms are so unpredictable. You never know what they’re going to do. As of now, we’re still planning on going. But we’re keeping a close eye on the Hurricane. If everything goes as planned, we’ll be performing for the second time at Aloft Tallahassee Downtown! I’m so excited to return to Aloft Tallahassee. The hotel is beautiful and the lobby reminds you of a chic night of fun after a long hard day of work. And that’s what you’ll encounter Tuesday night, September 3. The show starts at 6pm.

Full confession, Charlotte was my absolute favorite city to live in. We made so many amazing friends and found a number of great venues to call our music home. The cool thing about Charlotte is, there are so many nearby cities with lots of charm which makes the music scene all the better.. During our time in Charlotte, we came across a great coffee shop in Wake Forest, NC. We’ve played there two or three times but it’s been a while since we’ve been back there due to moving around as much as we did. Now, I’m super excited to have Wake Forest Coffee be a part of our tour this time. The show starts at 7pm on Thursday, Sept 5.

We have some dear friends who we met in Memphis who just so happen to have moved out to Charlotte recently. It is such a coincidence because they’re doing in Charlotte what we were doing in Nashville - creating fun experiences for residents at an apartment community. They’re with the same company that we were with and everything. So they’re putting on an event for their residents and invited us to do the live music. We are all to happy to oblige! Space is limited so if you’re thinking of coming, let me know and I’ll send you the address.

To my friends in Charlotte who I may not get to see, I love you and I wish we could have stayed in Charlotte longer so we can visit! Unfortunately, we’re only there for one night and a longer stay didn’t quite work out this time around. Hopefully, we’ll be back some time soon and we can have a proper visit.

For our last stop of the week, we’ll be heading back to Kentucky for an afternoon of grown folks soul at Talon Winery in Lexington. OMG! It feels like we were just there. I love this winery because the grounds are just so incredibly beautiful and the wine is equally pleasant. The people I’ve had the chance to meet on staff there are delightful and I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of my most supportive fans. I hope to see you all there! Join us for an afternoon of grown folks soul Saturday, September 7 from 4-7 at Talon Winery Lexington. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your dinner and sit out with us on the lawn.

I’m incredibly grateful to travel about sharing my music with all of you. I thank each and everyone of my supporters. You make a huge impact on my journey and I wouldn’t even be here without your support. Thank you for making independent arts and music a thing in your world. If you’d like us to come to your place the next time we’re in your neck of the woods consider hosting a house concert! You get to hang out in the comfort of your own home or backyard and enjoy live music with your family and friends. You haven’t experienced everything good life has to offer until you’ve experienced this. Find out more about hosting a house concert HERE.

I hope to see you soon.

Peace and Music,
Anitra Jay
